And now my watch begins

After the struggle, after the procrastination, after the pain, I have finally gathered some nerve to pick up my pencil once more to start writing. The journey so far has not been an easy one. The past year has been a bitter-sweet experience which I would love to share but I’ll reserve that for a future blog post.

Blast off…

Why that topic?

I hear someone ask, why the topic🤔? well for two main reasons.

I am making a conscious effort to keep track of any new concepts I learn

For months now, at least after I stumbled at medium, I have always wanted to document my learning process as constantly as possible, but I end up procrastinating😔. So today, as at the time of writing this, I am finally excited to start writing and I can’t wait to see what I will achieve from this at least a year from now!

I want to develop my skill as a content writer

Recently, as part of my self-reflection, part of the things that I noticed I love doing was writing. I identified that for anything I wanted to do, I usually find myself writing about it. I think I will make a good writer and I want to see how far this takes me.

Moving Forward

I will start writing technical articles on programming concepts I’ve learned so far. Here are some of the articles I plan to write about, in a future blog post:

  • Level up on the latest features in HTML and CSS
  • Javascript Essentials
  • Node & Express
  • React & Redux
  • GraphQL
  • And several other interesting concepts that are included but not limited to these topics

Please, feel free to always share your feedback and contributions via the comment section as this would be highly appreciated🙏.

I started working with React and Redux about a month ago and recently, an internal project I was placed with, in my company requires me to use React, React-apollo, and GraphQL. Believe me, I don’t know a thing about React-apollo and GraphQL, at least for now and so, my next blog post will be on GraphQL and what I have learned so far. It should be out by next week so watch out.

Every day, I consider myself a newbie(I really am) but I am sure with time, hard work and consistency I will keep growing into maturity as a ‘newbie’ 😉.

Bonus Note:

Recently, I got an offer to work for Andela — The best tech company in Africa! more about that in an upcoming post.

For now, my watch begins😀…
